I’d suggest reading the rest of the blog before rushing to hasty conclusions. I worked two jobs for two years and saved up, and I cut a lot of corners by staying with friends and cooking at home. My parents helped by using frequent flier miles to book three long-haul flights, but I would have found a way around if they hadn’t offered. You might want to find another axe to grind.
